They are very good for full body conditioning, particularly if you are an athlete or martial artist.Pullups are one of the most beneficial overall muscle and strength developers. An added benefit is that it works the abs as well as burning fat. Bonus!• Standard exercise for special forces and elite organization fitness testing• Improves grip strength significantly• Develop a V-shaped back• Impress your mates!!

I have a wall mounted pull up bar attached to my house for convenience, as a much prefer time efficient home workouts (especially as i am a new father with a busy work schedule). Other pull up bar include door frame pull up bars, and pull up stations, however, i have not used these.

Pull up workouts can be made varied and challenging by integrating them into explosive cardio circuits. There is also scope to attach weights to yourself or use a weighted vest if you become very advanced at pull up workouts. I am currently working on the twenty pull up challenge, and have improved consistently since i first started. Following a structured training programme, i have achieved positive results with good gains in my biceps, chest. triceps and shoulder muscles. Just need to work on my diet a bit more to get those abs.Good luck with your workouts.

So it becomes important for any company to look out for unconventional and eye catching means to promote its work. Using a universal pull up bar such as the Iron Gym Pull Up Bar or the Pull Up Bar by Cap may seem simple enough and even comes with instructions. However, this is like an entire upper body workout all in one if used correct for pull ups, chin ups, push ups, dips, sit ups and more with variations on each exercise.

So you don’t feel overwhelmed I will break this into workout sections:

These rep counts are for a fit male. If you are just starting out you may want to use a chair in front of you to modify the move with one foot on the chair. Also note that all exercises are done using the bar. Finally, take no more than 20 seconds between exercises unless a break is noted to keep your heart rate up.- Routine:

Standard push ups (15-20 reps)
Wide front pull ups (6-12 reps)
Military push ups (15-20 reps)
Reverse grip chin ups (6-12 reps)

60 second water break
Wide fly push ups (12-18 reps)
Closed grip pull ups (6-12 reps) *like a regular pull up with hands only thumb-length apart
Decline push ups (12-18 reps) *elevate feet on a couch or bed then do push ups as normal
Corn-cob chin ups (6-10 reps) *complete a regular chin up and at the top shift side to side

Handle pull ups (10-14 reps) *using the straight handles on a pull up bar
Tricep Dips (15-25 reps)
Handstand push ups (6-12 reps) *place pull up bar next to a wall, get in handstand position and lift yourself upward

Just about any business can potentially benefit from banner marketing. From use at trade shows to corporate communications to drawing customers to retail, more and more business owners are coming to realize how effective banners can be for building business. One of the most flexible solutions is known as the pull up banner system.

This type of stand is also known as a retractable or cassette system. It is a fully self-contained unit which incorporates a cartridge that is housed in an enclosed base. One of the main benefits is that set-up is quick as all one needs to do is withdraw the banner from the base and attach it to the overhead bar. Take down is just as easy – detach from the bar and the graphic rolls into the base and is fully protected from damage. The unit can then be slipped into its case for easy portability.

Pull up banners come in a wide range of sizes. The widths vary from 800mm to 2400mm to provide plentiful space for vivid and bold designs. To really breakthrough in crowded environments, super-tall banners up to 4 metres in height are also available. This is crucial on a crowded exhibit floor or even in outdoor locations where lower display stands may be obscured by pedestrians.

The easy set-up of a pull up banner makes them ideal for retail and restaurant use in front of the location or storefront. The system makes a great complement to overhead and window signage. Experts in the retail use a term known as window blindness. This refers to the common habit of pedestrians simply walking along without looking at an establishment’s window displays or signs. This is even more common these days as many people have their eyes glued to their smartphones as they walk along. Putting a banner onto the pavement helps the business get more attention and drive walk-in traffic.

Pull up banners can be purchased with an interchangeable cartridge option. This provides even more flexibility beyond its portability and easy set up. Having the option to change graphics makes this type of banner system ideal when promoting rotating specials or sale items. A common use of this banner type is at a restaurant which wants to promote nightly menu specials. Each day the graphic can be changed to correspond to that evening’s items. The same approach can be applied to retail when seasonal deals or products need to be promoted.

Finding pull up banners is easy thanks to the Internet. There are a variety of manufacturers and online retailers specialising in pull up and banners stands of all types. Many also offer free design services and can consult on the best types to deploy for one’s particular situation and need.

Just about any business can benefit from banner display advertising to build traffic and business. The bold graphics and myriad of styles, sizes and types means there is a system to match any need at a price point that will fit just about any budget.

Because of the doorway bar’s reduced mobility downside; this can inevitably interfere with overall muscle balance and growth. Why put in the time and energy into your workouts only to restrict your results? Furthermore, do you really want to buy something that’s going to destroy your home? The repair cost to mend your door frame may cost more than the chinup bar alone. Could there be a more suitable solution?

Advantages of a Free Standing Pull up Dip Bars

A power tower or pull up dip bar is a stationary multi purpose exercise apparatus which allows you to perform pull chin ups, dips, vertical knee raises, calf exercises, and push ups. Many power towers, offer an attached multi-grip bar that enables you to alter the position of your hands which will help to work the whole upper back.

Amazingly, although power towers are much bigger when compared to doorway pull-up bars, they do not occupy very much room. It is simple to fit the majority of models into a small apartment. Another advantage of power towers is that they’re budget friendly with a great number selling for under $ 175. If you consider how much a gym membership costs and the travel time it will take to get there, you can understand how a power tower could be beneficial. If you workout inside your home, it may be sensible to check these out.

All About Pull Ups

May 1, 2012 by

Pull ups are just like pushups in a sense that they are often avoided due to the fact that they can be extremely difficult for some people. A lot of people make this mistake when they are planning their workouts. If an exercise is difficult for you, this simply means that you need to make progress in that particular area. It is common for weight lifters to be able to pull down heavy amounts of weight on the machines, however they will struggle when it comes to just a single pull up. This is because pull ups are the ultimate in bodyweight exercise, and in order to do them you must have an incredible amount of strength. With these exercises you can build a lot of lean body mass in very little time. They also build a strong back and arms.

Since these exercises require the movement of multiple joints and work out a group of muscles, they are considered to be compound exercises. A standard pull up in which you grasp a bar with your palms directed away from your body focuses most of the work on the wings or lats, as well as providing a secondary workout for the forearms, biceps, traps, chest and rhomboids.

A chin up or an underhanded pull up puts most of its focus on the wings and lats as well, but shifts part of its attention to the backs of the shoulder and then also places a lot of emphasis on the biceps. You can use chin ups as an alternative to doing curls, since they do work the biceps so well.

The third most common variation of this exercise is when you grip the bar sideways with your palms facing each other. This is a mix of the chin up and the pull up. A good thorough workout will have all three of these variations in order to maximize your efforts.

You will be making fast progress due to the fact that you will be lifting the same amount of weight each time you perform your workout. As you gain muscle you will progressively be lifting more weight, however this is relative. You shouldn’t feel discouraged if you are only able to do one rep at first. Just find a set amount that is comfortable for you, even if it is only one, and do as many sets as you are able to do in a day. Then take a day off where you just rest, and go back to it the following day. Keep on repeating this until eventually you will be able to complete more sets or more reps.

If you have a hard time doing any at all, you can try another strength building exercise called a supine row. Basically, it is a horizontal version of a pull up. Use your bar or bench press and lay down beneath it. Get your body stiff and pull yourself up toward the bar.

You can use this information on pull ups to build strength in new ways, and it won’t be long before the results start showing!

Pull Up- Chin Up Workout

April 19, 2012 by

Article by Gregg Carter

When I first started doing pull ups I didn’t like them at all. Probably because I couldn’t do that many. I wasn’t even sure exactly which muscles were being worked.

As I got better at them I started to come around. I can’t imagine not doing them now. With the variety of hand positions you can get a tremendous upper body workout plus develop strength.

Before going into the hand positions let’s differentiate between a pull up and a chin up. A pull up is when your palms are facing away from you. Chin ups are when your palms are facing you.

Each one works your muscles in a different way. Pulls ups work more of your back and forearms while chin ups concentrate on your biceps.I use a doorway pull up bar which allows for a few different hand placements. Some offer more positions and then there’s the standard straight bar which offers the fewest.

For the basic pull up place your hands on the bar around shoulder width apart, palms facing away. Your feet should not be touching the ground. Pull up until your head is above the bar and chest nearly touches it. Lower yourself back down. That’s one.

Placing your hands further apart will focus more on your lats. Brining them in closer to approximately six to eight inches apart will work the lower lats. Both of these with palms facing away.Switching to a reverse grip or palms facing you will work your biceps more. You can vary your hand placement just as with a pull up. Narrow, shoulder width and wide.

Some pull up bars will let have your palms facing each other, also working the lats.

Depending on the day I will do two or three sets of 8 to 10 reps. Or I will just keep going until I can’t do anymore.

Those are the basic techniques. Once you get comfortable with those try a few others. What’s been called a combat grip is when one palm is facing you and the other is away.

Putt a towel over the bar and holding that with one hand and your other on the bar. Since one hand is lower than the other, it makes the one on the bar work harder. And then of course there is the one handed pull up.

You can get some ab work in as well. Hang from the bar palms facing away or each other. Then raise your legs in front of you forming your body into an ‘L’ shape and hold. See how high you can raise them.

Best Way to do Pull Ups and Chin Ups

April 19, 2012 by

Article by Dee

When I was in grade school I treasured PE period! I believe it was my favorite thing about school other than lunch time. I know it might have beat out lunch except our school had the best sticky buns and pizza. When you added those with the milk you invested 25 cents for it was like having a tiny piece of your own heaven. I am getting chills right now thinking about it! There is only one thing I would do to develop the moment and that would be to change the milk to a non- dairy almond milk. Speaking of non-dairy milk, have you tasted it? I held back from it for a long time because I thought it wouldn’t taste good. The non dairy variety is delicious so make sure you try it.

Yes… Physical education happened to be my best-loved time slot in school. I loved all we did this included archery, tennis, and running. I particularly loved when it was time for the Presidential Fitness test… at least that’s what it was named when I was in school. On the test, you had to do as many sit ups and pull ups as you could and if you fell within a certain number you would get a certificate. I don’t believe I ever failed in getting a certificate and I took pride in going up to get it in front of my school mates. Although I never failed in getting a certificate, I always seemed to fail on one part of the test and it was always pull ups. No matter how powerful I thought I was, pull ups always had a way of bringing me quickly back to reality. Since it made me feel that way, I always avoided doing them in the weight room as I matured in age. I decided recently to get better at doing pull ups and make my weakness a strength. I wonder if I am the only one who avoided doing them of the weakness factor Hmmm…

Difference of a pull up and chin up

Do you know the contrast between a pull up and a chin up? Occasionally people use the words to mean the same but they are very seperate. In a pull up, the hands are in a pronated or overhand position while in the chin up they are in the supinated or underhand position. While both of these work the back muscles there is a greater emphasis or activation on them with the pull up.
