How did Taylor Lautner get ripped? The answer is having a proper diet and workout plan.?
The second Twilight movie was going to see Taylor replaced with another actor unless he could bulk up enough. That gave him just 9 months to get as ripped as he could. As you now know, he managed it with flying colors, putting on 30 pounds of pure muscle and looking exceptional.?
When asked in interviews about his journey from scrawny to ripped, Taylor claimed that working out was easy. It was eating correctly that he found hard. Every 2 hours he would have to eat a massive meal. For example, he would have 6 egg whites, bacon and toast for breakfast.?
Jordan Yuam – Taylors Personal Trainer?
As you may know Taylor had Jordan Yaum as his personal trainer. Jordan explained that this diet was specifically designed for Taylor. He explained that Taylor was a ‘hardgainer’ which means he was somebody who had trouble putting on weight, so it was designed to do just this and not worry about losing fat.?
During an interval for ‘Mens Health Magazine’ Jordan went through some of Taylor’s workout routines.
The following is a summary of what he said in that interview.?
Pushing Yourself To Your limits?
If you want to get big and strong you need your body to get used to big loads. With this in mind Taylor had to use weights that were a lot heavier than he would normally be able to lift 10 times. So if you can lift, say, 12 pounds 10 times, go with 170 pounds. Then, using a spotter, perform only the lowering half of lifts. Your spotter must be strong enough to be able to lift the 170 pound weight back up to the rack by himself, as you should not assist beyond the lower half of the lift. With this technique your body adapts to the new weight before you actually are able to lift it yourself. The move is taxing on your muscles, though, so limit your “tasting” to 2 or 3 sets of 5 reps every other week.?
Adjust Your Volume?
It isn’t always the right approach to just go with heavy weights. Varying the reps you do and the amount of weight that you are lifting will help to maximize your gains. If you want a balanced body, you have to do that,” says Yuam. When you keep your muscles guessing and doing various routines, they grow more to adapt. This means that instead of always doing 3 sets of 10 reps at a certain weight, lower this weight and do 5 sets of 15 reps. A recent study in the journal of Strength and Conditioning Research found that men who regularly varied their rep counts and trained different muscle groups increased their bench strength by 28 percent and their leg-press strength by 43 percent.
Taylor Lautner’s muscle definition comes from a phenomenon where his skin is shrink wrapped over his muscles.
